Man City lineup vs. Tottenham: Predicted lineup for Premier League clash amid Erling Haaland injury concern

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Wednesday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester City fans are waiting with bated breath to hear the latest on Erling Haaland ahead of Wednesday's Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur in North London.

The two-time Golden Boot winner missed Sunday's 2-0 loss to Liverpool as a result of his knee injury, and Pep Guardiola could not give a firm answer on his availability for the midweek match in his press conference.

If the Norway international is available, though, he will be in pursuit of a Premier League record set by Harry Kane, as he needs just one goal to score 10 or more both home and away in three straight seasons in the competition.

Without Haaland acting as the focal point in the final third, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Omar Marmoush operated centrally over the weekend, but only the latter might retain his spot in the XI for this fixture.

An increasingly ineffective De Bruyne will almost certainly drop out, potentially for a refreshed Bernardo Silva, while Foden's spot could also be at risk if Guardiola opts to bring Mateo Kovacic in alongside Nico Gonzalez for greater midfield control.

However, Jeremy Doku has surely played his way into another start after beating Trent Alexander-Arnold all ends up over the weekend, while Savinho vs. Djed Spence or Destiny Udogie also has the look of a tantalising battle.

Limited options in defence means that Rico Lewis, Josko Gvardiol and Abdukodir Khusanov should all be safe, but after being benched for the visit of Liverpool, Ruben Dias will surely return, most likely in Nathan Ake's place.

Rodri (ACL), Oscar Bobb (ankle), Manuel Akanji (abductor) and John Stones (thigh) make up a quartet of guaranteed absentees for the Premier League champions this week.

Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Lewis, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol; Gonzalez, Kovacic; Savinho, Silva, Doku; Marmoush
