Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly emerged as contenders to sign a Gambia international during the summer transfer window.
The Premier League side are currently one of the form teams in Europe having prevailed in their last five fixtures in England's top flight.
As a result, Vitor Pereira and club officials can start to prepare for 2025-26, a consequence of Premier League survival having been secured with victory over Manchester United on Sunday.
Matheus Cunha is one player who could depart Molineux if his £62.5m release clause is activated by one of many suitors, mainly coming from English football.
Nevertheless, it appears that Wolves are already contemplating ways to find alternatives to the Brazil international, whether that be in the short or long term.
Wolves admirers of Gambian starlet?
According to Expressen, Wolves have been left impressed by the potential being shown by Mjallby forward Abdoulie Manneh.
The 20-year-old is currently plying his trade in the Swedish top flight, where he has contributed a modest three goals and two assists from his 25 appearances.
However, many of his outings in 2024 were from the substitutes' bench, eight of 21 to be precise, and he has since chipped in with one goal and one assist from AIF's opening four Allsvenkan games of 2025.
As such, AIF sit in third position in the table during the early stages of the campaign, Mannah seemingly earmarked to play a major part this season.
That is allegedly dependent on whether Wolves or another interested suitor push forward with a move for the left-winger across the summer, the player possessing a contract until December 2027.
Which other teams are interested?
Greek side Olympiacos and MLS side outfit FC Cincinnati are also said to be monitoring any developments with Manneh's future.
In the short term, at least, it appears realistic to expect him to continue his development in Sweden for a club that are bidding to improve on last season's fifth-placed finish.
That said, should Manneh continue to make an impact over the next two months, interest will only increase if clubs feel that he can offer value for money going forward.
He will also have eyes on becoming a regular with his country, his two caps having been earned in 2022.
