Fulham lineup vs. Liverpool: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as Marco Silva switches formation

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Fulham could line up for Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Craven Cottage.

Fulham manager Marco Silva should revert to a familiar 4-2-3-1 shape for Sunday's Premier League battle with Liverpool at Craven Cottage.

The London outfit lined up in a 3-4-3 for Tuesday's trip to Arsenal, seemingly in an attempt to frustrate their near neighbours, but those efforts proved fruitless in a 2-1 defeat.

Now back on home soil and still fighting for Europe, the hosting boss should switch to his tried-and-tested formula against the champions-elect, with a few personnel changes to boot.

Timothy Castagne, Bernd Leno, Joachim Andersen and Liverpool-linked Antonee Robinson are all certainties in defence, but both Issa Diop and Jorge Cuenca should make way as Calvin Bassey comes back in.

Diop and Cuenca's omissions will have a ripple effect further forward, where Silva will have space to include an additional attacker ahead of the established midfield pairing of Sander Berge and Sasa Lukic.

Andreas Pereira and Alex Iwobi should both be the beneficiaries of a formation change, as the former takes Emile Smith Rowe's place and the latter slots in on the left flank, with Adama Traore still bombing down the right.

The latter could very well be the only attacking starter from Tuesday night to reprise his role, as Rodrigo Muniz made his case to displace Raul Jimenez with his late consolation at the Emirates.

Ex-Liverpool attacker Harry Wilson (foot) and Reiss Nelson (thigh) both remain sidelined through injury, but Kenny Tete (knee) is back training and has a chance of making the cut.

Fulham possible starting lineup:
Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Lukic; Traore, Pereira, Iwobi; Muniz
