Barcelona injury, suspension news vs. Real Madrid: Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde, Marc-Andre ter Stegen updates

Sports Mole looks at Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
Sports Mole

Barcelona will take on bitter rivals Real Madrid in the final of the Copa del Rey on Saturday night.

The Catalan giants will enter the match off the back of a 1-0 victory over Mallorca in La Liga, and the team are chasing a treble in the latter stages of the campaign, with Champions League silverware also in their sights.

Barcelona are the most successful side in the history of the Copa del Rey, winning the competition on 31 occasions, with their last triumph in the competition coming in 2020-21.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of El Clasico, with the two biggest clubs in Spanish football set to lock horns for the trophy.

Robert Lewandowski

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: May 11 (vs. Real Madrid)

Lewandowski was forced off with a hamstring injury in the latter stages of the clash with Celta Vigo last weekend, and the Poland international is not expected back until the game with Real Madrid on May 11 at the earliest.

Marc Bernal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Bernal suffered an ACL injury against Rayo Vallecano in the league earlier this term, and he is out for the season, with the youngster working to be ready for pre-season ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: April 26 (vs. Real Madrid)

Ter Stegen has been missing in recent months due to the serious knee injury that he suffered in the clash with Villarreal back in September. However, the German has returned to the squad for the Copa del Rey final.

Marc Casado

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Midfielder Casado picked up a knee injury during the La Liga clash with Atletico before the March international break, and it is likely that he will now be absent for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.

Alejandro Balde

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: April 26 (vs. Real Madrid)

Balde suffered a hamstring injury during the recent La Liga clash with Leganes, and the defender faces a battle to be available for the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.

As it stands, it is believed to be highly unlikely that the left-back will recover in time for El Clasico.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Barcelona have no players suspended for the clash with Real Madrid.
